Nsenga Knight’s Other Stars Don’t Behave So drawing expresses the complex ideas of abstraction in Islamic art, nomadic art and Al Baruni’s drawing about the moon cycle. Knight is a Black Muslim woman artist. While creating the Other Stars Don’t Behave So drawing she was interested in examining the influence of Islamic art and science traditions on western abstraction and the uses of patterns in NASA’s spaceship design.
