Tawaf/ Sa’y is one of my most popular series and it sells out quickly, so make sure to purchase your signed limited edition print SOON before they sell out! The making of this work – similarly to its inspiration, is a story of travel, gathering, and spiritual connection.
Tawaf/ Sa’y, a 36-part text painting series I created in 2 countries, 5 different cities and 7 different studios. I was single and childless in 2012 when I started it. Now I’m a wife and mother of 3 children. Through it all, this project remained with me and grounded me as an artist within each new place and experience. Tawaf/ Sa’y is among a collection of works that are inspired by the pilgrimage footsteps of exemplars – Malcolm X, Ali Shariati, and of course Hajjar – the Black woman whose courageous determination led to the opening of the Zam Zam well in Mecca, which has quenched the thirst of millions of pilgrims for thousands of years.

My Plateaus series which is inspired by the sufi Islamic concept that every moment is a divine creation, as such we are empowered to always elevate and create the good we desire in the world – with and in spite of our histories. The subtitle of each work in this series is named after a line in the salat Ul Fathi which is part of my daily dhikr and meditation.

Inspired by the Book of Sufi Healing, for the Fitra painting series I reference a story about how humanity came to learn about the healing properties of plants as each one revealed its special properties to the King Prophet Solomon who later passed down this knowledge for generations to come. Amber is one of the ten healing plants discussed in the Book of Sufi Healing. Amber is known for its ability to heal our hearts – spiritual and physical. Amaliah recently published an article about my Fitra series and you can read more about it in detail here.

HERE’S A COMPLETE CATALOG OF AVAILABLE NSENGA KNIGHT ORIGINAL ARTWORK AND SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINTS. All of these artworks are framed and ready to hang. As the name suggests, for limited edition prints, only a limited number of prints will be made available for purchase. For example, if you see a limited run of 50 prints, once those 50 prints have sold, that limited edition will no longer be available to purchase. The exclusive nature of a limited edition print effectively raises its value and, therefore, its price. My limited edition prints are individually signed and hand-numbered.
HERE’S A CATALOG OF NSENGA KNIGHT FINE ART OPEN EDITION PRINTS which are available via Saatchi. Unlike limited edition prints, open edition prints are unsigned and may be endlessly reproduced by the artist. Because there’s no limit to the number of prints that can be made, an open edition print is priced lower than a limited edition print. My open edition prints are available framed or unframed in Photo Paper, Fine Art Paper, and Canvas. Sizes range from 8×12 to 32 x 48 inches.
